Practice Development Manager

I began working in health and social care in 2015 and joined Expanding Horizons as a support worker in 2017, after a short time I was offered the opportunity to become a team leader at our Penywaun Bungalow supported living service where I worked with the team and service users providing them with new independent life skills.

In 2018 I was then given the opportunity to further my career again, accepting a promotion to the newly created Practice Development Manager position.

The Practice Development Manager role was established to provide specialist training, mentoring and support for staff within the Organisation to enhance the quality of support we provide to vulnerable adults on their journey towards reaching their potential.

During that past 12 months I have completed several specialist accredited training programmes enabling me to provide training in the areas of The Prevention and management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA), Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support and Intensive Interaction.

Outside of work I…am a keen rugby player and in my younger years represented Wales at Judo.
