Our Response to COVID-19
The pandemic has had drastic effects on every one of us in both a professional and personal capacity. Long before the outbreak of COVID-19, the health and wellbeing of our staff and residents as always been at the forefront of what we do, however now we are of course being extra cautious in our approach to providing a safe and reliable service to those who need it in our residential and supported living services.
At Expanding Horizons, we have had to adapt to a new way of working, with the restrictions placed on us due to the original lockdown in March 2020. This had an impact on the way we support the individuals we work with. The management team of Tim Jenkins, Richard Nash, Ellis Jenkins and Emma Sayer have held weekly zoom meetings, which are used to keep staff at all services up to date with PPE stocks, risk assessments (which are everchanging), discussing emergency rotas, staffing levels and the impact of all the changes to the way we worked for all the staff and residents at our residential and supported living services
Cwmavon Rd Team leader, Paul Howells, stated “I believe that keeping staff informed on weekly basis of any changes to government guidelines and any staffing issues made our jobs a lot easier to do knowing that the management team were always ready to help with any queries or problems that arose and could be contacted at any time for support.”
Managing Director, Tim Jenkins commented “The pandemic has forced us all to adapt, however I am so proud with how the Expanding Horizons team has dealt with the pressures of navigating 2020 and the early parts of 2021. I would like to personally thank our staff for all of their hard work and their unwavering diligence in the protection of our residents from Coronavirus.
Although these are very tough times, I remain positive about the future with vaccine providing so much hope for our return to normality, in the meantime, stay safe.”
